Furama Chiang Mai ★★★★

Nice spacious rooms good location

1 swimming pool was closed . Needed updating generally and gym equipment was poor quality

Space and location and price. Staff were helpful, but limited in their skill set. But all the front of house staff had smiles.

Nonsense advert made by booking.com, advising there would be a free airport taxi. When I called the hotel from the airport on arrival to arrange this they refused. I was made to pay for the taxi and when I showed the reception staff the advert to prove my point, they didn’t handle the problem well. Instead of suggesting they refer the matter to a manager, they just declined to provide a refund and made me pay for the hotel car. One of the receptionists photographed my iPad page but nothing happened. No apology was made, no response from management made. Appalling service standards, indicating a lack of training and a lack of management professionalism.

it's quite convenient located near One Nimman and Maya shopping.

The facility is really old. It's badly in need of upgrading.

Individual rooms need updating

We took the suite. Everything from room to view met our expectations. The pool was smaller, but the view from 17th floor was nice to compensate. Maya mall is just opposite on main road. There is a Thai massage parlor opposite to Furama. The road beside is filled with eateries and joints (Nimman area.)

Breakfast was very lame, we tried one day only. Foods were cold, not up to mark. In the old city area there are a lot of food options. Everything else was just nice.

Large room. Good location for Nimman, but Chiang Mai has lost its charm. Too commercialised.

Bathroom cleanliness, shower coated in limescale. Lighting extremely poor. No balcony. Traffic is horrendous.

very disappointed that there is no meal plan for my room booking. I need to pay for breaksfast at 200 BTh per person per day.

Each time i book a grab car we need to wait for about 15 mins. Probably due to the road one way to the hotel.

It was cheap and we had a MASSIVE living area between our very large bedrooms. It is walkable to Nimman area and Maya Mall (across a very busy highway but with good traffic lights). Maya Mall has food courts in basement and on 4th floor and also a supermarket in basement. Used a cheap laundry moped collection service (just googled and then WhatsApped them ) Caught a tuk tuk to the night market most evenings - first night tourist desk lady offered to be our taxi as we couldn’t book a grab.

Staff were utterly uninterested. Exceptionally poor service for Thailand. Exception was the lady on tourist advice desk- think self employed who was friendly and helpful. That said we booked our own trips with driver; one to Sticky Waterfalls - fun, one to Grand Canyon water park and one day out rock climbing at Crazy Horse with Progression climbing who were great. Pretty bad breakfasts too. Noticed the predominately Japanese clientele brought their own green tea (none provided) and seasonings for the rice etc.. Discovered on our last night that the pool on the top floor was open, the one by the gym was locked off, not sure why. Wish we’d known that before. Ir is really old. Wasn’t a problem for us as we had read the reviews so expected it to be ‘70s throwback but it was also really gloomy. Each set of underpowered lights in our massive living area had a separate circuit switch and all switches were hidden in random spaces. So you spent a fair while every morning and evening hunting the switches and turning them all on or off. Windows were absolutely filthy, almost hard to see out of which also caused more gloom. One of the TVs didn’t work. Didn’t bother reporting as didn’t think anything would be done.

Liked how big the rooms were and how great the staff is.

The facilities are falling apart and the beds are not very comfy

Dated hotel, room was big and nice. Breakfast was ok, pool needs maintenance and some additional services open - everything looked like ghost-town.

Value for money was not there

Near to places I want to visit, nice staff decent sized rooms, good views of Doi Suthep

My TV left a bit to be desired

We stayed in a 2-bedroom suite. It was very big and spacious. My son and daughter in law stayed in the deluxe room. He mentioned that the lights were too dim. It seems that his room lighting is not the same as our room. Nevertheless, all good.

The view from the room and the swimming pool is one of the best in Chiang Mai, the delux room is very nice for the price.

Closing the pool at 7 makes no sense just because the restaurant is opening. The restaurant is not even visible from the pool. After a day of sightseeing it would have been nice to go for a swim. Also there is no power points beside the bed.

The rooms were very spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable. Rooms were cleaned everyday. The swimming pool was excellent. Buffet breakfast had a variety of choices.

The shower rooms were small and narrow. The shower heads were fixed and water was coming out of the shower box.

Location... neiborhood... staff... safety . Everything was ???? perfect

There was no washing machine ... and there was a cooker . But they didn't provide anything to cook with. . And they said that I shouldn't cook

As always. A great hotel. Lovely staff. Great location and accessibility. Have been many times before and will happily return again on our next short break to Chaing Mai City.

Bathroom a bit old. Faucet rusty hardly to turn on the water but it is not a big deal.
